Investigation of Air Quality and Particle Emission During Wet Granite Edge Finishing on Machine Tool with Half-Beveled and Ogee Profile Tools

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
Granite wet edge finishing is widely adopted to improve surface durability and aesthetics while reducing dust dispersion compared to dry processes. However, even under flooded lubrication, fine particles (FP, 0.5–20 µm) and ultrafine particles (UFP,

PROFIL MUKA AIR DI HULU GROUNDSILL TIPE AMBANG LEBAR DAN OGEE

open access: yesDinamika Rekayasa, 2007
A Groundsill is built with main purpose to control river bed. When groundsill is placed in a river there will cause water surface raises and creates backwater in upstream of the groundsill. It influences elevation of flood and inundation.

SPH Open Boundary Simulation of Free-Surface Flow Over Ogee-crested Spillway [PDF]

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2021
This study was conducted to compare water surface profiles with standard ogee-crested spillways. Different methods were used, such as (experimental models, numerical models, and design nomographs for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, USACE).

Similarly low blood metal ion levels at 10-years follow-up of total hip arthroplasties with Oxinium, CoCrMo, and stainless steel femoral heads. Data from a randomized clinical trial. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Biomed Mater Res B Appl Biomater, 2023
Abstract The use of inert head materials such as ceramic heads has been proposed as a method of reducing wear and corrosion products from the articulating surfaces in total hip arthroplasty, as well as from the stem‐head taper connection. The aim of the present study was to compare the blood metal ion levels in patients with Oxinium and CoCrMo modular ...

A.S.S.E.S.S. for Facial Fillers. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Cosmet Dermatol
ABSTRACT Background An in‐depth and detailed facial assessment is critical in treating and achieving desirable dermal filler and neurotoxin results. Methods An acronym called A.S.S.E.S.S. simplifies an often complex and overwhelming amount of data needed to assimilate when performing facial filler and neurotoxin injections.

Investigating the bottom free surface nappe (ogee profile) across a sharp-crested weir caused by the flow in an asymmetrical approach channel [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering, 2015
The shape of an ogee spillway is based on the shape of the lower nappe of water flowing over an aerated sharp-crested weir. At the design discharge, this shape minimises the possibility of sub-atmospheric pressure occurring on the spillway and maximises the discharge across the spillway.

Hydraulic Performance for Al-Dhuloyia Spillway Using Physical Model [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2008
A study was completed to compare flow parameters over a modified ogee-crested spillway which represent an existing project (Al-Dhuloyia Spillway) using a physical model and existing literature.

Unenriched xylem water contribution during cellulose synthesis influenced by atmospheric demand governs the intra‐annual tree‐ring δ18O signature

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 240, Issue 5, Page 1743-1757, December 2023., 2023
Summary The oxygen isotope composition (δ18O) of tree‐ring cellulose is used to evaluate tree physiological responses to climate, but their interpretation is still limited due to the complexity of the isotope fractionation pathways. We assessed the relative contribution of seasonal needle and xylem water δ18O variations to the intra‐annual tree‐ring ...

The dependence of evaporative efficiency of vegetated surfaces on ground cover mass fractions in vegetated soils in mesic ecosystems

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 37, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
In mesic ecosystems, the ground cover mass fractions have a significant positive linear correlation with the critical soil moisture of vegetated surfaces. This correlation can be utilized to estimate evaporative efficiency (SEE) of vegetated surfaces in different soil and ground cover conditions, accounting for both no canopy and below canopy ...
