Performance Of Oil-Based Drilling Fluids On Offshore Canadian Lands
Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 1988Abstract In 1985, Esso Resources Canada Limited successfully introduced oil-based drilling fluids to their Beau/ort Sea and East Coast operations. During the past two years, Esso Resources has drilled a total of six offshore wells using these mud systems. The performance of oil-based drilling fluids, on these wells,

Monitoring of Atmospheres Associated With Oil-Based Drilling Fluids
Proceedings of SPE Health, Safety and Environment in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Conference, 1994Abstract In the latest years there has been a growing concern about the environmental aspects of the oil & gas industry activities. This awareness has been expressed not only by the public and the authorities but also by the industry itself.

Synthesis and characterisation of a multifunctional oil-based drilling fluid additive
Environmental Earth Sciences, 2018An oil-based drilling fluid additive H-DEA (or humic acid-cocamide diethanolamine) was synthesised using humic acid and cocamide diethanolamine as raw materials. The rheological behaviors of H-DEA showed that the synthesised product has the good properties in both decreasing the filtrate loss and improving rheology property of oil-based drilling fluids

Harmless Treatment Technology of Waste Oil–Based Drilling Fluids
Petroleum Science and Technology, 2014Waste oil–based drilling fluids are hazardous wastes containing oil, heavy metals, and organic pollutants. The common treatment methods include pool storage, use of a secure landfills, heat treatment, and use of eel-roasting treatment technology. However, these methods not only waste many useful resources (because the oil is discarded rather than ...
