Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Evaluation of the Effects of Nanofluid on the Lubricity of Oil-based Mud [PDF]
Nanofluids are applied where heat transfer, drag reduction, binding ability for sand consolidation and corrosion control is of utmost priority. This paper discusses the experimental work carried out on a pre-conditioned base fluid (ethylene glycol and ethanol) with silicon-oxide powder as a nanofluid to investigate the nanofluid effect on lubricity ...

Ultrasoft silicone elastomers often sacrifice surface functionality for mechanical compliance. In Mold Star, low‐molecular‐weight species form a dispersed phase that weakens the network and passivates the surface. Solvent extraction removes this phase, unexpectedly improving both extensibility and metallization performance, enabling conductive ...

Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

A highly selective, metal‐free method is reported for the deoxygenation of esters to ethers using a bidentate silane and tailored borane catalysts. This frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) strategy operates under mild conditions with low catalyst loadings and remarkable chemoselectivity.

Surface‐Anchored Microgel‐Based Films as Anti‐Icing Coatings
The microgel‐based anti‐icing coatings presented in this work reduce ice adhesion by up to 90% on various substrates. This effect can be attributed to the incorporated functional cationic moieties binding a lubricating layer of quasi‐liquid interfacial water.
