Covalently Linked Peptides and Membrane Potential Enable CyaA Segment Translocation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a newly developed Droplet Interface Bilayer‐Pipette assay, the authors show that two segments of the CyaA toxin cross membranes by distinct mechanisms. One segment translocates spontaneously, whereas the translocation of the other depends on membrane potential.

CHANGE IN INFECTIOUS MORBIDITY IN TYUMEN REGION (MID 1960S – 1980S)

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2014
From mid 1960sto 1991 oil-and-gas development of Tyumen region occupied a significant place in the USSR state policy. In the 1960s, the region first in the RSFSR in infectious diseases due to the lack of health facilities, qualified personnel, as well as

Microbialite fabric evolution controlled by marine redox conditions in the Qigebrak Formation, NW Tarim Basin: Implications for hydrocarbon exploration

open access: yesUnconventional Resources
Microbialites constitute key archives for reconstructing the co-evolution of early life and Earth surface environments. Although the environmental controls on microbialite formation are widely acknowledged, the response of specific microbialite ...

High‐Power Hybrid Nanogenerator With Multi‐Degree‐of‐Freedom Mechanical Coupling for Harvesting Water Wave Energy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐power hybrid nanogenerator (HP‐HNG) with multi‐degree‐of‐freedom mechanical coupling is reported, integrating multi‐directional wave energy for output to achieve 1 + 1 > 2 energy harvesting. The HP‐HNG achieves a peak output power of 0.764 W, corresponding to a peak power density of 127.303 W m−3. At a wave frequency of 1 Hz, the HP‐HNG delivers

Herbivory‐Induced Stomatal Opening Triggers the Dispersal of an Invasive Insect Herbivore

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The invasive leafminer Phthorimaea absoluta uniquely manipulates plant defenses by inducing stomatal opening in tomato. This response, mediated by the stomatal regulator IQM1, enhances the release of the repellent volatile benzaldehyde. This volatile triggers the dispersal of adult moths, facilitates colonization of new hosts, and leads to rapid ...

Laboratory physical simulation study on water flooding EOR mechanisms and patterns in FM fault- fractured-vuggy reservoirs

open access: yesPetroleum Research
The FM fault-fractured-vuggy volatile oil reservoir exhibits significant heterogeneity and rapid production decline. Furthermore, there are notable differences in the effects of depletion development, and the impact of volatile oil degassing on water ...

Investigations of the Evolved Molecular Basis for Terpenoid Biosynthesis in Marine Sponges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Confirming and extending a previous observation in another Bubarida sponge, genomic and functional analyses of A. cavernosa reveal that sponges retain the mevalonate pathway and employ single α‐domain T1TSs and UbiA‐type TSs for terpenoid biosynthesis. The absence of T1TSs clustering with other biosynthetic genes tentatively suggests, based on limited ...

Characteristics and exploration potential of shale oil reservoir in the Upper Member of the Xiaganchaigou Formation in the Ganchaigou area, western Qaidam Basin

open access: yes地质科技通报
Objective Well C902, located in the Ganchaigou area of the western Qaidam Basin, achieved a breakthrough in shale oil exploration as indicated by the high-production oil flow in the Ⅳ-Ⅵ layers of the Upper Member of the Palaeogene Xiaganchaigou Formation.
