Disappearance of depot fat in rats fed extremely hydrogenated oils
American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1961Male adult albino rats fed ad libitum diets containing 50% extremely saturated vegetable fats (rape seed oil, iodine value 4 and soya bean oil, iodine value 9) showed marked weight reduction, with disappearance of body fat within a period of 6 weeks. The depot fat was not restored after 10 weeks of refeeding a control diet.

The Buncefield oil depot explosion: where there's smoke, there's (stock market) fire?
Applied Financial Economics Letters, 2008This study examines the stock market response to the Buncefield oil depot explosion in 2005. Like previous studies on technological disasters, we find an adverse effect on security prices. However, average abnormal return is only -0.58% for the four oil firms involved in the accident; that is, the explosion did not throw shareholders into panic selling.
