Oil‐Water Distribution of p‐Alkylpyridines

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1976
The distribution of a homologous series of p-alkylpyridines between water and six organic solvents with varying degrees of polarity was investigated. The distribution coefficients were considered as reflections of the strength of net interactions involved in the solvents.

Distribution of Sulfur in oil Shale

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, 1926
Sulfur was present in Green River oil shale in the form of sulfide, sulfate, and organic sulfur. The resinic sulfur found in the shale oil ranged from one-fourth to all of the organic sulfur.

Oil, Dissent, and Distribution

World Development, 2017
Summary This study reveals that social forces condition the extent to which oil-rich nations provide vital public services to the population. Although it is often assumed that oil wealth leads to the formation of a distributive state that generously provides services in the areas of water, sanitation, education, health care, or infrastructure, this ...

Experimental Investigation of Oil Droplet Size Distribution in Underwater Oil and Oil-Air Jet

Marine Technology Society Journal, 2021
AbstractUnderstanding the droplet size distribution of subsea oil releasing is important to predict the subsequent transport and degradation of the spilled oil. Single- and multi-phase oil jet experiments were conducted in the Ohmsett facility, including pure oil jet and oil-air jet through a 10.7-mm pipe and a 4.7-mm pipe. Measurements of the vertical

Deuterium Distribution in Crude Oil

Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, 1997
Abstract The aim of this paper is to rehabilitate informative potential of using deuterium as a natural tracer in geofluids investigations and to illustrate how the deuterium concentration from geological fluid links the micro-scale effects to the macro-scale processes.

Calculation of oil droplet size distribution in ocean oil spills: A review

Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2018
Calculation of oil droplet size distribution is one of the key components of ocean oil spill models. Oil fate and transport calculations of the model are significantly impacted by the droplet size distribution. Accuracy of the model predictions heavily depend on how well the model can calculate or represent oil droplet sizes.

Oil Droplet Distribution and Colour Discrimination in the Pigeon

Nature New Biology, 1971
THE retina of the pigeon has at least four kinds of cones, which can be distinguished by the oil droplets which they contain. The colours of three of these are in the visible part of the spectrum; the fourth appears colourless or slightly green1,2. These oil droplets are found in the paraboloid of the cones and can act as sharp cut-off filters that ...
