BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

2017 State-of the Science of Dispersants and Dispersed Oil (DDO) in U.S. Arctic Waters: Physical Transport and Chemical Behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Chemical dispersants were employed on an unprecedented scale during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and could be a response option should a large spill occur in Arctic waters. The use of dispersants in response to that spill raised

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Oil plume distribution in an anisotropic porous medium [PDF]

open access: yesTransport in Porous Media, 2007
The saturation distribution—within an anisotropic aquifer—of a pollutant discharging from an underground source is modeled by a two-dimensional, nonlinear diffusion–convection equation. A closed form self-similar solution is obtained for the steady saturation distribution in the immiscible zone.

The level crossing and inverse statistic analysis of German stock market index (DAX) and daily oil price time series

open access: yes, 2011
The level crossing and inverse statistics analysis of DAX and oil price time series are given. We determine the average frequency of positive-slope crossings, $\nu_{\alpha}^+$, where $T_{\alpha} =1/\nu_{\alpha}^+ $ is the average waiting time for ...

Estimating oil concentration and flow rate with calibrated vessel-mounted acoustic echo sounders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
As part of a larger program aimed at evaluating acoustic techniques for mapping the distribution of subsurface oil and gas associated with the Deepwater Horizon-Macondo oil spill, observations were made on June 24 and 25, 2010 using vessel-mounted ...

Visual Recovery Reflects Cortical MeCP2 Sensitivity in Rett Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Rett syndrome (RTT) is a devastating neurodevelopmental disorder with developmental regression affecting motor, sensory, and cognitive functions. Sensory disruptions contribute to the complex behavioral and cognitive difficulties and represent an important target for therapeutic interventions.

Optimization of gathering pipeline network topology in rolling development of old oilfields

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2020
The layout optimization model for rolling development of gathering pipeline network was built against the problem of network topology changes caused by the increasing wellheads in old blocks and the new wells addition in new blocks in the late ...

Pyrolysis of brominated feedstock plastic in a fluidised bed reactor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Fire retarded high impact polystyrene has been pyrolysed using a fluidised bed reactor with a sand bed. The yield and composition of the products have been investigated in relation to fluidised bed temperature.
