Antiobesity Effect of Oil Extract of Ginseng

Journal of Medicinal Food, 2011
In a preliminary study we found that incubating raw ginseng in oil facilitated autolysis and extensive metabolism of ginseng, releasing flavor and lipophilic compounds into the oil so that it could be used as an ingredient for high value-added foods, while the residue could be utilized for making ginseng extract.

Desulfurization of fuel oil by oxidation and extraction. 1. Enhancement of extraction oil yield

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1990
An oxidative-desulfurization (ODS) process has been used to remove sulfur from diesel oils. This ODS process comprises two stages at ambient conditions: oxidation using nitrogen dioxide or nitric acid, followed by liquid extraction with solvents having the capability to dissolve aromatics and olefinic compounds. {gamma}-Butyrolactone is one of the best

Effects of oil plastic extract on mice

International Journal of Environmental Health Research, 2001
In the plastics industry, various chemical additives are used to improve certain properties of plastics. Some of these chemicals, that might be toxic, have been proved to leach from the plastic containers and mix with their contents such as food oils, beverages, drugs, etc.

The Industry of Oil Extraction

2011
The intensive use of petroleum-based oil is a relatively recent economic phenomenon. While the term “oil” is derived from the Greek term “elaion,”, for olive oil, the term can be used for any material that is liquid at room temperature, will not mix with water, and is soluble by organic solvents.

Rate of the vegetable oil extraction with supercritical CO2—II. Extraction of grape oil

Chemical Engineering Science, 1994
Abstract Grape oil was extracted with carbon dioxide at 280 bar and 40°C. Effect of milling of grape seeds, solvent flow rate and flow direction on the course of extraction was investigated. Mass transfer coefficients in the supercritical and solid phases were evaluated from extraction curves using a plug-flow model. While the assumption of plug flow
