Oils and Fluids for Hydraulics
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1971<div class="htmlview paragraph">The methods of refining and treating petroleum fractions and the selection of appropriate additives and inhibitors to obtain a satisfactory oil for hydraulic applications are reviewed. The various physical and chemical properties of these oils and their significance in hydraulic systems are also presented.

Scientific Lubrication, 1960
HOW OFTEN does one hear the aggrieved tones of a sufferer asking why he must put up with leakage troubles ? All too frequently such situations occur in all of the very many branches of hydraulics and it seems a pity that in many instances the trouble need not have occurred at all.

Fractionation of oils in hydraulic pressing
The Chemist’s Section of the Cotton Oil Press, 1923The foregoing results may be taken to indicate that in so far as cottonseed oil is concerned the fractions of oil obtained from the hydraulic press at different periods during the operation show some definite variations in some of their physical characteristics but nothing conclusive is shown by the chemical constants The salient facts brought out may ...

Reclamation of used hydraulic oil
Oil and Chemical Pollution, 1990Abstract In an attempt to develop a nonpolluting method for used oil disposal, sharp sand bed filtration and the continuous elution technique were used on a bench scale to carry out the reclamation of used industrial hydraulic oils. Both processes gave quantitative yields of reclaimed oils.

Environmentally adapted hydraulic oils
Wear, 1997Abstract A comparison has been carried out between one mineral based hydraulic oil and three environmentally adapted hydraulic oils. Two of these are semi-synthetic oils, i.e. mixtures of vegetable base oil and synthetic esters, and the last is based on synthetic esters only.
