Measures of New Constructs or Old Ones? The Case of Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The construct validity of organizational commitment has recently been investigated in several studies. The authors of these studies have concluded that organizational commitment is a valid construct, sufficiently distinct from job satisfaction.

Long‐read sequencing‐based atlas of tissue‐specific expression of DNM1L transcript variants

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Targeted long‐read sequencing resolves full‐length DNM1L (Drp1) isoforms and reveals conserved, tissue‐specific expression patterns across human and mouse tissues. Functional assays show that Drp1 isoforms differ in their ability to drive mitochondrial fission, independent of abundance, with specific exons modulating activity.

Pathological narcissism and loneliness among men: Implications for men's satisfaction with life

open access: yesPsychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Loneliness has been established as a threat to health and well‐being, and may be particularly problematic for men due to masculinity norms that emphasize self‐reliance. How multilingual is scholarly communication? Mapping the global distribution of languages in publications and citations

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 5, Page 699-713, May 2026.
Abstract Language is a major source of systemic inequities in science, particularly among scholars whose first language is not English. Studies have examined scientists' linguistic practices in specific contexts; few, however, have provided a global analysis of multilingualism in science. Using two major bibliometric databases (OpenAlex and Dimensions),

Returns to on-the-job search and the dispersion of wages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A wide class of models with On-the-Job Search (OJS) predicts that workers gradually select into better-paying jobs. We develop a simple methodology to test predictions implied by OJS using two sources of identification: (i) time-variation in job-finding ...

Diagnosing Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis in Excised Tissue Using Optical Coherence Tomography

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, Volume 136, Issue 5, Page 2092-2100, May 2026.
This study evaluated whether optical coherence tomography (OCT) can quantify eosinophils in excised sinonasal tissue and diagnose eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (ECRSwNP). Counts of globules resembling eosinophils on OCT images strongly correlated with eosinophils per HPF on histology, with a cutoff of 45 globules on OCT imaging ...

About the Infinite Repetition of Histories in Space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper analyzes two different proposals, one by Ellis and Brundrit, based on classical relativistic cosmology, the other by Garriga and Vilenkin, based on the DH interpretation of quantum mechanics, both of which conclude that, in an infinite ...
