A Study on Sea Ice Observation in the Sea Okhotsk by Polarimetric SAR

IGARSS 2008 - 2008 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2008
Since polarimetric SAR data are powerful tools to derive scattering mechanism of the observation target, it is expected to give us more detailed information in sea ice monitoring. Electro-Magnetic (EM) measurement for sea ice was conducted during the Soya cruise period in February, 2004.

A study of sea ice in the Sea of Okhotsk with SAR data

Polar Record, 1995
AbstractThe ‘Okhotsk Sea Ice Observation Experiment’ 93' was carried out in February 1993 in the southern part of the Sea of Okhotsk and in Lake Saroma, Japan. The aim of the experiment was to investigate how effectively Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) can monitor sea ice in this region. Satellite data from JERS-1/SAR (J-SAR), ERS-1/SAR CESAR), and SPOT-

Zoning the ice cover of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan

Herald of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2015
The analysis of an 85-year-long series of observations over the ice cover of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan has shown that stable ice zones that preserve the characteristic features of ice conditions during various ice development phases are distinguished in the ice mass.
