Characterization of few mode fibers by OLCI technique [PDF]
All LP modes of a few mode fiber are simultaneously characterized using phase-sensitive optical low-coherence interferometry. The differential modal group delay and absolute chromatic dispersion values of each mode are retrieved from a single measurement without spatial mode transformers.

Radiometric assessment of OLCI, VIIRS, and MODIS using fiducial reference measurements along the Atlantic Meridional Transect [PDF]
High quality independent ground measurements that are traceable to metrology standards, with a full uncertainty budget, are required for validation over the lifetime of ocean-colour satellite missions.

Retrieval of Chla Concentrations in Lake Xingkai Using OLCI Images
Lake Xingkai is a large turbid lake composed of two parts, Small Lake Xingkai and Big Lake Xingkai, on the border between Russia and China, where it represents a vital source of water, fishing, water transport, recreation, and tourism. Chlorophyll-a (Chla) is a prominent phytoplankton pigment and a proxy for phytoplankton biomass, reflecting the ...

Abstract. During the tandem phase of Sentinel-3A and -3B in summer 2018 the Ocean and Land Color Imager (OLCI) mounted on Sentinel-3B satellite was reprogrammed to mimick ESA’s 8th Earth explorer the Fluorescence explorer (FLEX). OLCI in FLEX configuration (OLCI-FLEX) had 45 spectral bands between 500 nm and 792 nm.

Inland waters, including lakes, are one of the key points of the carbon cycle. Using remote sensing data in lake monitoring has advantages in both temporal and spatial coverage over traditional in-situ methods that are time consuming and expensive.

Global Sensitivity Analysis of the SCOPE Model in Sentinel-3 Bands: Thermal Domain Focus
Sentinel-3 satellite has provided simultaneous observations in the optical (visible, near infrared (NIR), shortwave infrared (SWIR)) and thermal infrared (TIR) domains since 2016, with a revisit time of 1−2 days.

Evaluating the Performance of Sentinel-3A OLCI Products in the Subarctic Northeast Pacific
The subarctic northeast Pacific (SNEP) is a high-nitrate, low-chlorophyll (HNLC) region in the ocean, where phytoplankton growth and productivity are limited by iron. Moreover, there is a limited application of high spatial (300 m) and temporal resolution (daily) ocean color (OC) satellite imagery in studying the phytoplankton dynamics in this region ...
