Chemical constituents of Oldenlandia pinifolia and their antiproliferative activities

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2017
This study describes the chemical constituents of Oldenlandia pinifolia (Wall. Ex G. Don) Kuntze (synonym Hedyotis pinifolia Wall. Ex G. Don) and discusses their anti-proliferative activities. Thirteen compounds were isolated from the n-hexane, ethyl acetate and n-butanol extracts of whole plants O. pinifolia by chromatography method.

The Interplay between the Gut and Ketogenic Diets in Health and Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 36, September 25, 2025.
This review synthesizes current knowledge on the interaction between ketogenic diets and the gut, covering gut physiology, intestinal immunity, and the gut microbiome. It explores innovative methods for tailoring the diet to maximize benefits while reducing side effects. Emphasis is placed on gut‐mediated mechanisms as a critical interface between diet

Natural Antioxidants as Regulators of Circular RNA Expression and Function

open access: yesWIREs RNA, Volume 16, Issue 4, July/August 2025.
Natural antioxidants found in food can modulate circular RNA activity, offering a novel strategy to counteract oxidative stress and its related diseases, including cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, and cancer. This emerging connection between diet and gene regulation holds promising potential for both therapy and prevention.

Exploring Use of a Protein Cage System for Producing Bioactive Peptides in Escherichia coli

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 6, June 2025.
Bioactive peptides can be difficult to manufacture biosynthetically. This study explored the use of bacteriophage P22 virus‐like particles to encapsulate recombinantly expressed bioactive peptides, enabling the production of therapeutically valuable linear and cyclic peptides in Escherichia coli.

Complete chloroplast genome and phylogenetic analysis of Richardia brasiliensis (Rubiaceae, Rubioideae, Spermacoceae)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources
We determined the chloroplast genome of Richardia brasiliensis. The genome was 154,573 bp with a typical quadripartite structure: a large single-copy region (84,388 bp), a small single-copy region (17,411 bp), and two inverted repeat regions (26,387 bp ...

Sugar‐sensing swodkoreceptors and swodkocrine signaling

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 944-961, May 2025.
Sugar‐sensing swodkoreceptors that trigger swodkocrine signaling. Abstract Sugars are one of the major metabolites and are essential for nucleic acid synthesis and energy production. In addition, sugars can act as signaling molecules. To study sugar signaling at the systemic level, there is an urgent need to systematically identify sugar‐sensing ...
