Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Investigating User Authentication in the Context of Older Adults

open access: yes
Knowledge-based authentication is almost ubiquitous due to low cost and relatively straightforward implementation. Despite its popularity, there are some well-known problems associated with knowledge-based authentication, such as the cognitive load of ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

The role of executive attention in healthy older adults' concurrent walking and counting

open access: yes, 2014
Completing activities of daily life relies on using both cognitive and physical resources efficiently, but these are affected by age. This may be due either to an age-related reduction in the resources we have available for carrying out tasks or to a ...

A qualitative study of alcohol, health and identities among UK adults in later life

open access: yes, 2013
Increasing alcohol consumption among older individuals is a public health concern. Lay understandings of health risks and stigma around alcohol problems may explain why public health messages have not reduced rates of heavy drinking in this sector.

The spatial arrangement of house environment and importance of Charn (semi-outdoor terrace) for older adults: case study of Nonmuang community, Khon Kaen Province

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering
This paper aims to clarify the spatial arrangement of house in Nonmuang Community, Khon Kaen, Thailand. As Thailand moves toward a super-aged society, understanding how everyday domestic spaces support aging in place is increasingly important, especially

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
