Vanadium(V) oxo and imido calix[8]arene complexes: synthesis, structural studies, and ethylene homo/copolymerisation capability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Interaction of p-tert-butylcalix[8]areneH₈ (L⁸H₈) with in-situ generated [NaVO(Ot-Bu)₄] (from VOCl₃ and four equivalents of NaOtBu) afforded the dark brown complex [Na(NCMe)₅][(VO)₂L⁸H]·4MeCN (1·4MeCN), in which the calix[8]arene adopts a saddle-shaped ...

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Kinetic resolution of racemic {alpha}-olefins with ansa-zirconocene polymerization catalysts: Enantiomorphic site vs. chain end control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Copolymerization of racemic {alpha}-olefins with ethylene and propylene was carried out in the presence of enantiopure C1-symmetric ansa metallocene, {1,2-(SiMe2)2({eta}5-C5H-3,5-(CHMe2)2)({eta}5-C5H3)}ZrCl2 to probe the effect of the polymer chain end ...

Characterization and Dynamics of Substituted Ruthenacyclobutanes Relevant to the Olefin Cross-Metathesis Reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The reaction of the phosphonium alkylidene [(H_(2)IMes)RuCl2═CHP(Cy)_3)]^(+) BF_(4)^− with propene, 1-butene, and 1-hexene at −45 °C affords various substituted, metathesis-active ruthenacycles. These metallacycles were found to equilibrate over extended

Crystal Engineering of Reticular Materials for Gas‐ and Liquid‐Phase Hydrocarbon Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Crystal engineering enables systematic study of structure/function relationships as exemplified by pore engineering of reticular sorbents, including porous coordination networks and covalent organic frameworks. This review assesses such studies applied across the full scope of industrially relevant hydrocarbon separations to provide insight into how ...

Silicoaluminates as “support activator” systems in olefin polymerization processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this work we report the polymerization behaviour of natural clays (montmorillonites, MMT) as activating supports. These materials have been modified by treatment with different aluminium compounds in order to obtain enriched aluminium clays and to ...

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

Late Transition Metal Olefin Polymerization Catalysts Derived from 8-Arylnaphthylamines

open access: yesInorganics
Late transition metal catalysts represent a significant class of olefin polymerization catalysts that have played an essential role in advancing the polyolefin industry owing to their highly tunable ligands and low oxophilicity.
