Statistical Process Control of Olfactometer Temperature

2007 Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2007
We propose a statistical framework to examine the effects of the main factors in the design of an olfactometer. The goal is to optimize the design process of an olfactometer using statistical process control. The analysis and effectiveness of the proposed framework is evaluated using a variety of statistical quality control techniques including ...

Olfactometer Experiments with Male Braconids

Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 1950
The parasitic wasp, Microbracon hebetor (Say) is well known in biological control as a very useful enemy of lepidopterous pests in stored grains. The wasp is also well known for its usefulness in genetic investigation as evidenced by the fact that Dr. P. W. Whiting and associates have published genetic studies on the organism (as Habrobracon juglandis (

Olfactory Stimulus Control Evaluated in a Small Animal Olfactometer

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1974
A fully automated air-stream olfactometer and test chamber are described. Studies with rats using a discrete trials, go, no-go training procedure demonstrate that olfactory discriminations are acquired rapidly and, under appropriate conditions, with few or no errors.

Olfactometers According to EN 13725

2017
In 1995 the technical committee TC264 air quality of the European Committee for Standardization convened the working group 2, which developed an odor testing standard. It was released in 2003 as EN 13725 air quality – measurement of odor concentration using dynamic olfactometry.

An Olfactometer with a Wide Range of Possibilities

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1960
An olfactometer is described which is very suitable for threshold measurements of the organ of smell. The rate of flow of the odorous air, duration of stimulus and number of odorous molecules are controlled independently. The dilution can be varied over a range of 1 to 10-12 times the original concentration of the odorant.

An Olfactometer Permitting Stimulus Specification in Molar Terms

The American Journal of Psychology, 1954
Abstract : Thresholds are determined by metering various amounts of odorous material dissolved in mineral oil into a syringe by adjustment of a 3-way stopcock; the syringe is then filled with pure air. The molecular concentration of the stimulus is calculated from the vapor pressure and molecular weight of the odorous substance, the molecular weight of
