Stable redox reactions of lithium croconate organic cathode materials are achieved in water‐based hydrate‐melt electrolytes. The unique solution structure of hydrate‐melt electrolytes, an extremely low‐water‐activity environment, suppresses dissolution and decomposition, enabling high‐energy‐density aqueous rechargeable batteries.

Upon reduction of 1,4‐diaza‐1,3‐diene 1 to the dilithium enediamide 2, the polarity of the C = N bonds is reversed ‐ a classic case of umpolung.
