Governing by Ambiguity: Sociotechnical Imaginaries of Platforms in China

open access: yesPolicy &Internet, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Besides clear policy directives, the unresolved and open‐ended elements in policy communication also create discursive politics. This article argues that ambiguity in policy communication reflects the state's exercise of power within a fractured sociocultural landscape.

Antimicrobial Secondary Metabolites From Rhizosphere‐Associated Streptomyces Species in Northern Nigerian Agricultural Soils: Genomic Mining and Bioactivity Assessment

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Nigerian agricultural soils harbour diverse Streptomyces species producing novel antimicrobial secondary metabolites. Genomic mining revealed 187 biosynthetic gene clusters, leading to isolation of twelve new compounds with potent activity against multidrug‐resistant pathogens, including MRSA and vancomycin‐resistant Enterococcus. ABSTRACT Streptomyces

Genome and transcriptome‐based identification and expression profiling of chemosensory gene families across developmental stages and tissues in Sirex noctilio (Hymenoptera: Siricidae)

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, Volume 35, Issue 3, Page 270-283, June 2026.
The first draft genome of Sirex noctilio was produced. Fifteen S. noctilio transcriptomes were sequenced to study chemosensory gene expression patterns. SnocOR16 and SnocSNMP1 displayed tissue‐ and sex‐specific expression patterns. Abstract The Sirex woodwasp (Sirex noctilio; Hymenoptera: Siricidae) is among the most destructive invasive pests ...

Potential of the Predatory Mites Gamasellodes lavafesii (Mesostigmata: Ascidae) and Cosmolaelaps mediocuspis (Mesostigmata: Laelapidae) on Different Soil Pests/Parasites and Alternative Prey for Large‐Scale Rearing

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 5, Page 562-572, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Many species of Mesostigmata soil mites have potential as biological control agents of pests/parasites. This study evaluated the predation potential of two of these species, Gamasellodes lavafesii (Ascidae) and Cosmolaelaps mediocuspis (Laelapidae).

A Limited Dependent Variable Analysis of Integrated Pest Management Adoption in Uganda [PDF]

open access: yes
In Uganda overall crop loss due to pests exceeds that caused by drought, soil infertility, or poor planting material. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) technologies can reduce pest damage to crops by emphasizing non-chemical control methods thereby ...

Hindlimb functional morphology and locomotor biomechanics of the small Late Triassic pseudosuchian reptile Gracilisuchus stipanicicorum (Archosauria: Gracilisuchidae)

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 248, Issue 6, Page 1026-1063, June 2026.
A three‐dimensional biomechanical model of the musculoskeletal system is used to analyse the potential locomotor functions of the small (~1 kg) Late Triassic archosaurian reptile Gracilisuchus stipanicicorum. The study finds that, potentially like the ancestral archosaur, this taxon was probably quadrupedal, plantigrade and neither strongly sprawling ...

COMBINING QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE APPROACHES TO RURAL DEVELOPMENT ANALYSIS: THE CASE OF AGRICULTURAL INTENSIFICATION IN LEBANON [PDF]

open access: yes
While peripheral rural regions in Lebanon face typical problems of lagging development and economic marginalisation, they have not been regarded as a priority for policy-makers, and significant disparities between these and other regions have emerged as ...

Shrubs and trees as natural insect protection for grazing animals in Switzerland and the alpine region: A systematic review of in vitro, in vivo and clinical trials Sträucher und Bäume als natürlicher Insektenschutz für Weidetiere in der Schweiz und im Alpenraum: Eine systematische Literaturübersicht über in vitro‐, in vivo‐ und klinische Studien

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 221-245, June 2026.
Biting or irritating insects are a threat to the health and welfare of grazing animals. This systematic review reveals that several shrubs and bushes growing in the alpine area have insecticidal, insect‐repellent and/or attractant properties. The alder Alnus glutinosa, juniper Juniperus communis, spruce Picea abies and walnut Juglans regia are ...
