Oriental Language Recognition (OLR) 2020: Summary and Analysis [PDF]
The fifth Oriental Language Recognition (OLR) Challenge focuses on language recognition in a variety of complex environments to promote its development. The OLR 2020 Challenge includes three tasks: (1) cross-channel language identification, (2) dialect identification, and (3) noisy language identification.

OLR-WA Online Regression with Weighted Average
Machine Learning requires a large amount of training data in order to build accurate models. Sometimes the data arrives over time, requiring significant storage space and recalculating the model to account for the new data. On-line learning addresses these issues by incrementally modifying the model as data is encountered, and then discarding the data.

Cirrus horizontal inhomogeneity and OLR bias [PDF]
The outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) bias due to the neglect of cloud horizontal inhomogeneities has been examined in this study. It is argued that this OLR bias is most significant for semi‐transparent cirrus clouds that are located in the cold upper troposphere. Using two cirrus cases observed from cloud radar, it is found that the OLR biases due to
