Association of Omeprazole‐Related Myopathy With Drug–Drug and Drug–Gene Interactions Involving CYP2C19 and CYP3A4: A Nested Case–Control Study

open access: yesPharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, Volume 45, Issue 10, Page 654-666, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Omeprazole, a widely used proton pump inhibitor, has been associated with rare but serious adverse events such as myopathy. Previous research suggests that concurrent use of omeprazole with fluconazole, a potent cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2C19/3A4 inhibitor, may increase the risk of myopathy.

Identifying Pediatric Drug Safety Knowledge Gaps: An Integrated Approach Leveraging Real‐World Data, a Biomedical Knowledge Base, and Postmarketing Surveillance Data

open access: yesPharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, Volume 45, Issue 10, Page 667-676, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Drug safety has historically been understudied in pediatric populations, rendering them “therapeutic orphans.” Pediatric drug indications and dosages are often inferred by extrapolating safety, efficacy, and dosing data from adult studies, leading to widespread off‐label use.

Medication‐Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaws in Patients on Antiresorptive Medication With Dental Implants. A Scoping Review

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, Volume 36, Issue 10, Page 1173-1201, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Objectives Patients receiving antiresorptive medication (AR) for osteoporosis or cancer are at risk of medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaws (MRONJ), especially after surgical procedures. Dental implant (DI) placement in high‐dose AR (HDAR) patients is widely discouraged, and thorough counseling is recommended for low‐dose AR (LDAR ...

Real‐World Characterization of Psychiatric Pharmacogenomic Test Ordering and Clinical Relevance in Adults and Children

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 18, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing is increasingly utilized to guide psychiatric medication selection and dosing, yet real‐world characterizations of test ordering and clinical implications remain understudied. Additionally, the extent to which psychiatry‐focused PGx results inform prescribing beyond mental health medications is unclear. This study
