Inhabiting the White Church: Divinized Diversity and Antiracist Projects in Progressive Religious Organizations

open access: yesJournal for the Scientific Study of Religion, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drawing on 3 years of qualitative fieldwork at a United Methodist church and a Catholic parish in Minneapolis‐St. Paul, I analyze how White, liberal congregations translated race‐conscious ideals into organizational practice in the wake of the 2020 police murder of George Floyd.

Co‐Benefits of Nutrition Interventions: A Systematic Review

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Nutrition interventions aim to improve dietary quality and enhance health. They can also result in broader co‐benefits, including social, educational, and environmental outcomes. However, these co‐benefits remain under‐quantified.

GcrR in Streptococcus mutans Inhibits the Morphological Transition of Candida albicans Through Ras1–cAMP/PKA Pathway in the Cross‐Kingdom Biofilms

open access: yesMolecular Oral Microbiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The dual‐species biofilms formed by Streptococcus mutans and Candida albicans exhibit enhanced cariogenic potential due to the production of extracellular polysaccharides (EPSs). The response regulator GcrR in S. mutans negatively regulates EPS synthesis, but its impact on dual‐species biofilms remains unclear.

Intercomparison of Multiple Satellite Aerosol Products against AERONET over the North China Plain

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2019
In this study, using Aerosol Robotic Network aerosol optical depth (AOD) products at three stations in the North China Plain (NCP)—a heavily polluted region in China—the AOD products from six satellite-borne radiometers: the Moderate ...

Porphyromonas gingivalis Outer Membrane Vesicles‐Associated DNA Triggers Inflammation by Inducing IL‐6 in Astrocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oral Microbiology, EarlyView.
Pg releases OMVs which contain Pg genomic DNA. The Pg OMVs‐associated DNA is incorporated into astrocytes via endocytosis and increases IL‐6 mRNA expression via TLR9. These effects of Pg OMVs may induce neuroinflammation, which could contribute to the onset and progression of AD in periodontal disease.

The impact of satellite sensor viewing geometry on time-series analysis of volcanic emissions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Time-series analysis techniques are being increasingly used to process satellite observations of volcanic gas emissions and heat flux, with the aim of identifying cyclic behaviour that could inform hazard assessment or elucidate volcanic processes ...

Characteristics of the Health‐Associated Oral Microbiome in Young Nonhuman Primates

open access: yesMolecular Oral Microbiology, EarlyView.
The oral microbiome of healthy younger nonhuman primates, as a preclinical model of the human oral cavity, was evaluated. The results provide seminal details of the oral microbiome in this disease model to elucidate specific microbial changes.

Sun-as-a-Star Spectral Line Variability in the 300–2390 nm Wavelength Range

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Combining the near-daily Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) and Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI) measurements of solar spectra, we construct line indices (line-core to line-flanks ratios) for various transitions (mainly Fe i ) in the 300–2390 ...

Spectral characterization of three wearable electronic ultraviolet radiation dosimeters

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation poses significant public health risks, including DNA damage and skin‐related pathologies. Wearable electronic UV dosimeters enable accurate studies and quantification of solar UV‐radiation exposure on an individual level. Due to variations in the spectral distribution of solar radiation, the spectral mismatch

Methods for substituting onsite ambient ultraviolet radiation measurements for personal exposure studies

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Three methods for substituting on‐site ambient ultraviolet radiation measurements for personal exposure measurements were investigated. Assuming spatial persistency of measurements from high‐grade instruments delivers lowest uncertainties up to distances of 82 km.
