Varijabilnost mikroelemenata u iglicama prirodnih populacija Picea omorika
This is the first study of microelement variability in needles of seven natural populations of Picea omorika (Panč.) Purkyně from Serbia. Seven essential, three usefull, and six toxic microelements were analysed by ICP-Spectrometer. Their range was as follows: Mn > Fe > Zn > Al > Na > B > Cu > Ni > Cr > Cd > Co.

Plant functional traits couple with range size and shape in European trees
Abstract Aim Plant functional traits are frequently proposed as influential factors in species distribution. However, there is a gap in assessing how plant resource‐economic traits relate to the size and shape of a species' geographical range, and to what extent these relationships are conserved over evolutionary history.

Towards the dynamic conservation of Serbian spruce (Picea omorika) western populations [PDF]
Key messageHigh levels of genetic diversity, pronounced genetic structure and limitations to gene flow in Serbian spruce, a rare and endangered tree species from the refugial Balkan region, point towards a “one population-one unit” strategy for assembling a network of Genetic Conservation Units (GCUs) for its dynamic conservation.

Phenolics, lignin content and peroxidase activity in Picea omorika lines
We analyzed low molecular mass phenolics, lignin content and both soluble and cell wall bound peroxidase activity in the needles of three Picea omorika (Pancic) Purkyne lines grown in the generative seed orchard. The highest values of the total phenol content as well as of catechine, caffeic acid, coniferyl alcohol, isoferulic acid and lignin ...
