Real-Time On-Orbit Estimation Method for Microthruster Thrust Based on High-Precision Orbit Determination

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2021
In order to enable the micro-nanosatellites equipped with microthrusters to better complete various space applications, it is necessary to estimate the thrust performance of the microthrusters in real-time on orbit.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Orbit design for future SpaceChip swarm missions in a planetary atmosphere

open access: yes, 2012
The effect of solar radiation pressure and atmospheric drag on the orbital dynamics of satellites-on-a-chip (SpaceChips) is exploited to design equatorial long-lived orbits about the oblate Earth.

Deflecting small asteroids using laser ablation : Deep space navigation and asteroid orbit control for LightTouch2 Mission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a low-cost, low mass, mission design to successfully intercept and deflect a small and faint, 4 m in diameter asteroid. Intended to be launched after 2025, the laser-ablating mission, LightTouch2 will be used to deflect the orbit of ...

Insulation Strategy and Analysis of Space Thermionic Reactor on Orbit

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2022
The complex cosmic thermal environment is a great challenge to the orbit injection of space reactors. Improper design will lead to liquid metal condensation and hinder the safe start-up of reactors.

Orbital pseudotumour presenting as orbital cellulitis [PDF]

open access: yesCJEM, 2006
ABSTRACT A 33-year-old woman presented to a community emergency department with a 4-day history of monocular orbital pain, photophobia and pain on extraocular movement. Findings included chemosis, conjunctival injection and restricted extraocular movements causing strabismus.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Visual Navigation For On-Orbit Servicing Missions

open access: yes, 2013
Increasing complexity and costs of satellite missions promote the idea of looking for opportunities to extend the operational lifetime or to improve the performance of a satellite instead of simply replacing it by a new one.
