Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Precise Orbit Determination for ADEOS-II
We performed the precise orbit determination of ADEOS-II using single frequency GPS data and reviewed the results. JAXA precise orbit determination system is called “GUTS (Global and high accUracy Trajectory determination system)”.

Design of optimal Earth pole-sitter transfers using low thrust propulsion [PDF]
Recent studies have shown the feasibility of an Earth pole-sitter mission using low-thrust propulsion. This mission concept involves a spacecraft following the Earth's polar axis to have a continuous, hemispherical view of one of the Earth's poles.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Accuracy Assessment of SGP4 Orbit Information Conversion into Osculating Elements
The SGP4 model is one of the analytical orbit models applied for the orbit prediction using TLE orbit information. For the orbit accuracy improvement, a model conversion was performed to apply a more precise model. Assuming that a TLE data set is the

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Rendezvous Simulation for On-Orbit Servicing Missions Using Advanced Robotic Technology
Increasing complexity and costs of satellite missions promote the idea of extending the operational lifetime or improving functionalities/performance of a satellite in orbit instead of simply replacing it by a new one.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
