Induction of precocious sexual development in female pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha)
Canadian Journal of Zoology, 1973Acceleration of ovarian maturation was achieved in immature pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) with injections of chinook (spring) salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) gonadotropin alone, and in combination with estradiol 17β. Oocytes containing yolk globules were evident in fish treated three times per week with 1.0 μg/g body weight salmon ...

he development of the mesonephros of the pink salmon, Oncorhynchus Gorbuscha (Walbum)
2012The development of the kidney of the pink salmon was traced from the earliest stages to the year-old finger-ling. The development of the pronephros has been treated separately. The mesonephros develops from the intermediate cell mass of the twelfth to the thirty-ninth segments.

Thyroxin as a growth stimulator for the fry of Oncorhynchus gorbuscha (Walb.) from the Barents Sea
Doklady Biological Sciences, 2006Thyroxin has been demonstrated to stimulate the weight growth of Oncorhynchus gorbuscha (Walb.) fry from the Barents Sea under experimental conditions. It has been shown that thyroxin, acting on O. gorbuscha fry via water (hormonal baths) at a total dose of 20 or 50 mg increased the body weight by a factor of 1.5 compared to the control on the 80th day

Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) using a probe to the male-specific GH-Y (growth hormone pseudogene) was used to identify the Y chromosome in the karyotypes of chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) and pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha). The sex chromosome pair is a small acrocentric chromosome pair in chum salmon and the smallest metacentric ...

Blood lactate concentrations in pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) before and after spawning
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1972Abstract 1. 1. Unspawned pink salmon were captured on their fresh-water spawning grounds. Serial blood samples were withdrawn via an indwelling aortic catheter and analyzed for lactate ion. 2. 2. Following postoperative recovery a progressive increase in circulating lactate was observed which continued for up to 10 days.
