Ontogeny of the olfacto‐retinalis projection in coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch)

Journal of Experimental Zoology, 1991
AbstractFilling of nucleus olfacto‐retinalis neurons by cobaltous lysine injections into one eye of coho salmon of different ages revealed that the terminal nerve projection to the retina is established when the fish leave their freshwater environment. At this time salmons go through a metamorphosis termed “smoltification”.

Development of osmotic and ionic regulation in juvenile coho salmon Oncorhynchus kisutch

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, 1966
Abstract 1. 1. The developmental pattern for the osmotic and ionic regulatory system during the juvenile phase of the life cycle was determined. Measurements of survival time were made monthly as were changes in blood osmotic, sodium and chloride concentrations following exposure to sea water ( salinity = 30‰ ). 2. 2. The development of

Regulation of hepatic growth hormone receptors in coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch)

General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1992
Factors potentially regulating hepatic growth hormone (GH) receptors in coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) have been investigated. From December to June of the first year, relative changes in hepatic 125I-sGH binding and 35SO4 incorporation by ceratobranchial cartilage were similar.

Amoebic gill infection in coho salmon Oncorhynchus kisutch farmed in Korea

Diseases of Aquatic Organisms, 2016
About 70% mortality occurred in cultured coho salmon Oncorhynchus kisutch at a marine farm in the South Sea of Korea in 2014. Diseased fish showed greyish or pale patches on the gills, with no internal signs of disease. No bacteria or viruses were isolated from diseased fish, but numerous amoebae were found on the gills.

Saprolegnia diclina Humphrey as a parasite of the solmonid, Oncorhynchus kisutch.

2011
Studies of Saprolegnia infections of fish in British Columbia were made to determine disease causing agents and infection conditions. Saprolegnia diclina Humphrey was the most frequently observed parasite. This fungus reproduced sexually both on fish tissue and hemp seed cultures. No definite isolations of S.
