A Contingency View of Consolidation Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A consolidation system is a type of an accounting information system that aims to facilitate the consolidation process of organisations that are comprised of a collection of entities, but that are required to produce one set of consolidated financial ...

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Nonlinear consolidation of arbitrary layered soil with continuous drainage boundary: An approximate closed-form solution

open access: yesSoils and Foundations
Based on the double nonlinear consolidation constitutive associated with the compression and permeability coefficients, presented by Mesri and Rokhsar (1974), this paper derives an approximate closed-form solution for the one-dimensional nonlinear ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

The effect of various oil pollutants on the compressibility properties of clayey sand [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی عمران شریف
Soil pollution by oil and its derivatives is a highly controversial environmental problem that also causes geological and geotechnical harm. The effect of oil pollutant type on geotechnical characteristics, especially soil compressibility, is an ...

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Evaluation of Pre-Consolidation Stress Determination Methods

open access: yes, 2011
Pre-Consolidation Pressure Provides Valuable Information About Soil Behavior And, Specifically, Settlement under an Induced Load. Soil is Expected to Have Less Settlement Before its Pre-Consolidation Pressure and Much More Settlement after that Point ...
