Nonlocal Metaspire: A Scalable Elastic Material Platform With Decoupled Mechanical Modes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nonlocal Metaspire introduces sequential rotation to realize wider scalability in implementing complex nonlocal couplings in elastic metamaterials while suppressing unintended mode coupling. Numerical results clarify the underlying wave motions, demonstrate mode‐decoupled roton and maxon formation, and support a straightforward extension to higher ...

Structural safety and usability evaluation of one way voided slab with Formwork

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering
This study proposed a formwork-integrated hollow slab with an improved shape made of a hollow material. The performance of the proposed formwork-integrated hollow slab was evaluated through flexural and shear tests.

Facet‐Specific PbS Quantum Dot Passivation Using Halide Perovskites for SWIR Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
PbS quantum dots (QDs) are emerging as powerful short‐wave infrared photodetectors, yet the passivation mechanism of large QDs by perovskites ‐ critical for their stability ‐ remains unexplained. Here, we unveil the ligand structure of CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPI)‐passivated 4‐nm PbS QDs using FTIR, XPS, SEM, NMR, and DFT.

Overcoming Printing and Interfacial Challenges in Liquid Metal Direct Writing for Integrated Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Liquid metal direct writing is advanced from a technological and fundamental point. Utilizing a kinematic bed, printing on large surfaces with irregularities is enabled. Furthermore, a pressure‐driven flow during printing is discovered that affects the thickness of traces.

Effect of Macro and Micro Polypropylene Fibers on the Flexural Behavior of RC Slabs

open access: yesZanco Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences
This research highlights the effect of the micro polypropylene fibers (mPPF), macro polypropylene fibers (MPPF), and hybrid fibers (combination of mPPF and macro steel fiber at the rate of half) on the flexural strength of the one-way reinforced ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

ONE-WAY SLABS IN TRANSITION BETWEEN ONE-WAY SHEAR AND PUNCHING: EXPERIMENTS AND RECENT INSIGHTS FOR EVALUATION

open access: yesProceedings of International Structural Engineering and Construction
Bridge deck slabs are members on which one-way reinforced concrete slabs are found frequently loaded by concentrated loads. Although the one-way shear failure mechanism has gathered more attention in the past years, both one-way shear and two-way shear mechanisms may be critical for such loading conditions. This paper addressed the ultimate capacity of

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.

Load tests of one-way precast slabs.

open access: yesRevista Tecnologia, 2009
The present text does not intend to present to the scientific community a guide for the accomplishment of load tests. Its intention is merely to provide an overview of this subject for engineers, precast concrete manufacturers and constructors, emphasising its relevance for one-way slabs.
