Adatoms and nanoengineering of carbon

open access: yes, 2001
We present a new and general mechanism for inter-conversion of carbon structures via a catalytic exchange process, which operates under conditions of Frenkel pair generation.

Ni Single‐Atom Modulation of Ti‐O Covalency Boosts Ammonia Oxidation Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Ni single‐atom‐induced enhancement of Ti‐O covalency in Ni SAC@TiO2 generates abundant active sites and promotes selective NHx‐NHy mediated N2 evolution while suppressing poisonous NOx formation, achieving nearly doubled AOR activity with excellent durability.

Forecasting seasonality in prices of potatoes and onions: challenge between geostatistical models, neuro fuzzy approach and Winter method [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper, we studied the ability of geostatistical models (ordinary kriging (OK) and Inverse distance weighting (IDW)), adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and Winter method for prediction of seasonality in prices of potatoes and onions in ...

Vapor‐Assisted Catalysis Enables Precise Construction of MOF‐Derived Hierarchical Carbon Nanoarrays for High‐Performance Supercapacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A remote‐control strategy for catalyst design is unveiled for advanced carbon materials. During pyrolysis, zinc vapor from a physically separate source guides cobalt catalysts to construct a hierarchical carbon nanoarray. This approach prevents structural collapse while directing the dense growth of carbon nanotubes, yielding a material with ...

Breeding for improved responsiveness to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in onion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) play an important role in the uptake of nutrients and water from soil. Onions, Allium cepa L., are plants with a shallow root system. As a result, onion plants need a lot of fertiziler for their growth.

'Now' with Subordinate Clauses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate a novel use of the English temporal modifier ‘now’, in which it combines with a subordinate clause. We argue for a univocal treatment of the expression, on which the subordinating use is taken as basic and the non-subordinating uses are ...
