We study the problem of online learning of multiple tasks in parallel. On each online round, the algorithm receives an instance and makes a prediction for each one of the parallel tasks. We consider the case where these tasks all contribute toward a common goal.

Organizational learning online
Proceedings of the 35th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2003In times of continuous changes, enforced through globalization and networking, organizations face the need both to react quickly to experienced or occurring changes, and to act pro-actively to foreseen developments. An effective way for organizations to act and react is to model the business at the process level and to re-construct or rearrange this ...

The impact of cognitive styles preference and of achievement motivation on the intensity of selected barrier perception in on-line learning was tested on 234 university level student sample. The results of the research don’t indicate statistically significant correlations between the achievement motivation and on-line learning barriers perception.

Presented are 11 issues that indicators of necessary course design. The Absence of one or more indicators in an online class can create difficulty for students and, in turn, cause learning to suffer. The result is an unsuccessful online learning experience.

Online Learning with Constraints
2006We study online learning where the objective of the decision maker is to maximize her average long-term reward given that some average constraints are satisfied along the sample path. We define the reward-in-hindsight as the highest reward the decision maker could have achieved, while satisfying the constraints, had she known Nature’s choices in ...

We study the problem of learning ensembles in the online setting, when the hypotheses are selected out of a base family that may be a union of possibly very complex sub-families. We prove new theoretical guarantees for the online learning of such ensembles in terms of the sequential Rademacher complexities of these sub-families.

Online resources are playing an increasingly important role in veterinary undergraduate education and lifelong learning. The challenge is to know where to search for useful, authoritative and comprehensive information without wasting time aimlessly browsing the web.
