Phylogenetic characterisation of Onobrychis species with special focus on the forage crop Onobrychis viciifolia Scop.

Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution, 2012
Sainfoin (Onobrychis viciifolia Scop.) is a perennial forage legume that possesses beneficial properties in the context of sustainable agriculture. In order to initiate a pre-breeding programme, we have assembled a germplasm collection of O. viciifolia from many geographic regions, as well as a collection of Onobrychis species that might be crossed ...

Plant regeneration from callus protoplasts of Onobrychis viciifolia scop. (sainfoin)

Plant Science, 1989
Abstract Conditions for isolation and culture of protoplast derived calli from genotypes of Onobrychis viciifolia selected for regeneration ability, were established. Protoplast derived plants were easily obtained through organogenesis on MS medium supplemented either with 2-iP or 6-BAP.

Polyphenols, Condensed Tannins, and Other Natural Products in Onobrychis viciifolia (Sainfoin)

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2000
An acetone/water extract of the fodder legume Onobrychis viciifolia afforded arbutin, kaempferol, quercetin, rutin, afzelin, the branched quercetin-3-(2(G)-rhamnosylrutinoside), the amino acid L-tryptophan, the inositol (+)-pinitol, and relatively high concentrations of sucrose (ca. 35% of extractable material). Acid-catalyzed cleavage of the condensed

Exploring variation in proanthocyanidin composition and content of sainfoin (Onobrychis viciifolia)

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2013
AbstractBackgroundTo maximise the potential benefits to ruminants from sainfoin, plant breeding should focus on developing varieties with predictable condensed tannin (CT) profiles. Little is known about whether and to what extent accession and environment influence sainfoin CT structures.

Biosynthesis of the 6-oxygenated isoflavone afrormosin in Onobrychis viciifolia

Phytochemistry, 1978
Abstract dl -Phenylalanine-[2- 14 C], 2′,4′,4-trihydroxychalcone-[ carbonyl - 14 C] and formononetin-[ Me - 14 C] were all good precursors of afrormosin (7-hydroxy-6,4′-dimethoxyisoflavone) in Onobrychis viciifolia seedlings. This demonstrates that 6-oxygenation may be a late process in the biosynthesis of isoflavones.

Korunga (Onobrychis Viciifolia) bitkisinin antioksidan etkinliğinin in vitro değerlendirilmesi

2012
Bu çalışmada, korunga bitkisinin (Onobrychis viciifolia) toprak üstü kısımlarının aseton, methanol, etilasetat ve su ekstrelerinin antioksidan etkinliği araştırıldı. Ekstrelerin fenolik içeriği Folin-Ciocalteu yöntemiyle, antioksidan aktivitesinin belirlenmesi fosfomolibden metodu, beta-karoten-linoleat model sistemi, radikal süpürücü etkiye karşı 2,2 ...
