An Embodied Paper‐Based Microfluidic Al‐Air Battery for Enduring Untethered Insect‐Scale Robots
This work presents a centimeter‐scale microfluidic aluminum–air battery (MFAAB) with dual‐surface anode and F−‐mediated byproduct decomposition. The design enables a high capacity of 2697.05 mAh/g Al and delivers tens of milliwatts to power LEDs, motors, and a toy car.

Thermomechanical Processing of Structural Steels with Dilute Niobium Additions [PDF]
In this thesis, the influence of various dilute Nb additions (0.005–0.02 wt%) on austenite microstructure evolution along thermomechanical processing, in terms of austenite recrystallisation and grain growth, were investigated using steels with three ...

Five‐coordinate, square‐pyramidal Fe(II) complexes adopting polar, non‐centrosymmetric crystal structures exhibit exceptionally large easy‐axis magnetic anisotropy. Ligand‐driven distortions critically control the anisotropy, and the dielectric, Polarization vs Elecric field and piezo response studies confirm intrinsic polarization, positioning these ...

Manufacturing, mechanical properties and corrosion behaviour of high-Mn TWIP steels [PDF]
Austenitic high-Mn (15–30 wt.%) based twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) steels provide great potential in applications for structural components in the automotive industry, owing to their excellent tensile strength-ductility property combination.

Strong‐yet‐ductile precipitation‐hardening alloys require novel microstructural complexity of precipitates in particularly at cryogenic condition, to constantly impart strain hardening of hard‐and‐brittle precipitates. The present work creates innovative structurally complex precipitates assembled with dispersed nanocores and a chemical‐heterogeneity ...

An analysis of the influence of deformation and recrystallisation on microstructures of the EastGRIP ice core [PDF]
New and more detailed investigations from the EGRIP physical properties dataset down to 1650m of the ice core will be presented. EGRIP is the first deep ice core through one of our Earth’s ice sheets partly motivated by ice dynamics’ research.

Field‐Frustrated Cooperative Distortions: Suppressing Jahn‐Teller Ordering via Microwave Annealing
Microwave annealing decouples local Jahn‐Teller distortions from long‐range cooperative ordering in CuFe2O4, stabilizing a metastable cubic phase that remains locally distorted yet globally symmetry‐frustrated. Synchrotron XRD, PDF, XPS, and in situ thermal cycling reveal how non‐equilibrium MW‐phonon interactions suppress cooperative orbital‐lattice ...
