Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Modelling Discourse-related terminology in OntoLingAnnot’s ontologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Recently, computational linguists have shown great interest in discourse annotation in an attempt to capture the internal relations in texts. With this aim, we have formalized the linguistic knowledge associated to discourse into different linguistic ...

Ontology or Ontologies?

open access: yes, 2015

Ontology localization

open access: yesProceedings of the fifth international conference on Knowledge capture, 2009
nternational organizations (e.g., FAO1 , WHO2 , etc.) are increasingly expressing the need for multilingual ontologies for di®erent purposes, e.g., ontology-based multilingual machine translation, multilingual informa- tion retrieval. However, most of the ontologies built so far have mainly English or another natural language as basis.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Ontologies in digital management

open access: yesE-Management
The subject of this article is a new type of ontologies that can be used in digital management. The purpose of the study is to analyze the general application of ontologies and propose a new type of ontologies for use in digital management. This ontology

Semantic Mediation Model to Promote Improved Data Sharing Using Representation Learning in Heterogeneous Healthcare Service Environments

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Interoperability has become a major challenge for the development of integrated healthcare applications. This is mainly because of the reason that data is collected, processed, and managed using heterogeneous protocols, different data formats, and ...

Conjunctive query inseparability of OWL 2 QL TBoxes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The OWL2 profile OWL 2 QL, based on the DL-Lite family of description logics, is emerging as a major language for developing new ontologies and approximating the existing ones. Its main application is ontology based data access, where ontologies are used

Dividing the Ontology Alignment Task with Semantic Embeddings and Logic-based Modules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Large ontologies still pose serious challenges to state-of-the-art ontology alignment systems. In this paper we present an approach that combines a neural embedding model and logic-based modules to accurately divide an input ontology matching task into ...

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.
