Kinematics and Dynamics of a Tensegrity‐Based Water Wave Energy Harvester
A tensegrity‐based water wave energy harvester is proposed. The direct and inverse kinematic problems are investigated by using a geometric method. Afterwards, the singularities and workspaces are discussed. Then, the Lagrangian method was used to develop the dynamic model considering the interaction between the harvester and water waves.

Enhancing Weak‐Signal Carrier Phase Tracking in GNSS Receivers
Examining the performance of the GNSS PLL, this paper presents novel results describing the statistical properties of four popular phase estimators under both strong‐ and weak‐signal conditions when subject to thermal noise, deterministic dynamics, and typical pedestrian motion.

Damping is a mechanism that dissipates vibration energy in dynamic systems and plays a key role in dynamic response prediction, vibration control as well as in structural health monitoring during service. In this paper a time domain and a time‐scale domain approaches are used for damping estimation of engineering structures, using ambient response data

Encouraging politicians to act on climate: A field experiment with local officials in six countries
Abstract Local governments play an important role in addressing the climate crisis. However, despite public support for climate action, local policy responses have been limited. We argue that (1) biased beliefs about voter preferences, (2) the time horizon for credit claiming, and (3) source credibility are barriers for legislators to learn and adopt ...

The object of this paper is to solve a fractional integro‐differential equation involving a generalized Lauricella confluent hypergeometric function in several complex variables and the free term contains a continuous function f(τ). The method is based on certain properties of fractional calculus and the classical Laplace transform.

A mixed boundary value problem for Laplace′s equation involving a nearly circular disk
The electrostatic problem of a nearly circular disk charged to a unit potential is considered for its solution as it serves as the most important and symbolic mixed boundary value problem for Laplace′s equation with the aid of which many complicated mixed boundary value problems arising in elasticity and fluid dynamics can be handled for solution.

The comfort zone: Reflection on a taken-for-granted model [PDF]
Reference to the comfort zone model is widespread within outdoor adventure education. It is based on the belief that when placed in a stressful situation people will respond by overcoming their hesitancy and grow.
