Prior metabolic and bariatric surgery is an independent determinant of severity of decompensation in alcohol‐associated liver disease

We examined the clinical significance of prior metabolic and prior bariatric surgery in patients hospitalized with alcohol‐associated liver disease in a single‐center retrospective study of 275 patients between 2000 and 2023. Patients with prior bariatric surgery were younger and predominantly female.
