LED Modelling for Efficient LiFi Modulator Design to Accelerate OOK
IECON 2022 – 48th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2022This paper studies the response of a Light Emitting Diode (LED) to a stepwise change of the power delivered by a current or voltage supply. This study contributes to the design of efficient electronic circuits to generate On-Off Keying modulation for optical wireless communication using LEDs as an emitter.

We present interferometric operation of an electroabsorption modulator. We demonstrate 40-Gb/s PSK modulation, and up to 8.7 dB improvement in extinction ratio in 40-Gb/s OOK modulation with 0.8V driving voltage using a single electroabsorption modulator.

CMOS PULSE GENERATOR FOR BPSK, OOK, PAM, AND PPM MODULATIONS
Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2009This work presents a single chip integrated pulse generator-modulator to be utilized in a short range wireless radio sensors remote control applications. The circuit, which can generate single pulses, modulated in BPSK, OOK, PAM, and also PPM, has been developed in a standard CMOS technology (AMS 0.35 μm).

Ook modulator using photoconductive feedback oscillator
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2010AbstractDesign approach and characterization of an integrated oscillator switched by an optical power are discussed. The oscillator is driven into oscillation at a frequency of 4.9 GHz under a light excitation power upper than a threshold value of 40 mW at a wavelength of 800 nm.

Gbps 60GHz CMOS OOK Modulator and Demodulator
2010 IEEE Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Symposium (CSICS), 2010New 60GHz OOK modulator and demodulator are presented in this paper. A proposed 60GHz OOK modulator is designed in a 90nm CMOS process by current reuse and dual modulation technique and has 28.5dB high on/off isolation, and 10dB gain at 60GHz with 14.4mW at on-state of an OOK digital signal. It can process OOK digital signals up to 2Gbps.

LDPC code design for OOK modulated Poisson optical channels
2013 47th Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems (CISS), 2013The Poisson channel is a popular direct-detection model in optical communication. In this paper, we study efficient data communication over the on-off keyed (OOK) modulated Poisson channel. We first analyze the channel capacity, and based on the analysis we study the application of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes on such channels.

Performance analysis of NRZ-OOK, RZ-OOK and 8QAM modulated VCSEL based optical link
2019 International Conference on Computer, Communication, Chemical, Materials and Electronic Engineering (IC4ME2), 2019A 40km long error free optical fiber at 10Gb/s bit rate is demonstrated. The analysis includes the consumption of power, dependency on temperature, Q factor and BER of the system model. The performance analysis is done at 1550 nm wavelength for NRZ-OOK, RZ-OOK and 8-QAM modulated system.
