Equation of state and opacities for hydrogen atmospheres of magnetars

open access: yes, 2003
The equation of state and radiative opacities of partially ionized, strongly magnetized hydrogen plasmas, presented in a previous paper [ApJ 585, 955 (2003), astro-ph/0212062] for the magnetic field strengths 8.e11 G < B < 3.e13 G, are extended to the ...

Asymptotic Giant Branch stars at low metallicity: the challenging interplay between mass loss and molecular opacities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the main physical properties of low-metallicity Asymptotic Giant Branch stars, with the aim of quantifying the uncertainties that presently affect the predicted chemical yields of these stars, associated to mass loss and description of ...

Comprehensive Assessment of Arterial, Tissue, and Venous Collaterals for Evaluating the Infarct Growth Rate: The Multimodal Collateral Score

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Collaterals are crucial factors that influence the infarct growth rate (IGR). We aimed to determine whether a comprehensive multimodal collateral score (MCS), incorporating collateral assessment at the arterial, tissue, and venous levels, is associated with functional independence and provides incremental prognostic value over ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 43, 29 May 2026.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
