Experimental Study on Flow Resistance Over Rigid Vegetated Channel

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Vegetation is an important part of the ecological channel, and flow structure over vegetation in ecological channel is rather complex. The vegetation resistance to flow is affected by many factors, and there is still no general calculation method to ...

Searching for self-similarity in switching time and turbulent cascades in ion transport through a biochannel. A time delay asymmetry

open access: yes, 2003
The process of ion transport through a locust potassium channel is described by means of the Fokker-Planck equation (FPE). The deterministic and stochastic components of the process of switching between various conducting states of the channel are ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Numerical simulation of various flow regimes in water delivery systems

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics
Transient flow frequently occurs in water delivery systems, including various flow regimes such as water hammer, free surface flow, and slug flow. Current models often oversimplify these phenomena by simulating single-phase flow or using simplistic one ...

Research on Stability of Explicit Runge-Kutta Method for Solving Constantly Gradually Varied Flow in Open Trough

open access: yesRenmin Zhujiang, 2021
Explicit Runge-Kutta method is one of the commonly used algorithms to solve the differential equation of constantly gradually varied flow in open channel, which has been studied and popularized by some domestic scholars in recent years.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Effect of aspect ratio on higher order moments of velocity fluctuations in hydraulically rough open channel flow

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
The effect of aspect ratio on the higher order statistics of velocity fluctuations in a hydraulically rough turbulent open channel flow is investigated.

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Prediction Model for Etiologic Differentiation of Isolated Vestibular Syndrome in Emergency Settings

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for differentiating central from peripheral etiologies in patients with isolated vestibular syndrome (VS). Methods In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, 506 patients with isolated VS from five hospitals were divided into derivation (n = 301) and validation (n = 205)
