Noise suppression of on-chip mechanical resonators by chaotic coherent feedback

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a method to decouple the nanomechanical resonator in optomechanical systems from the environmental noise by introducing a chaotic coherent feedback loop. We find that the chaotic controller in the feedback loop can modulate the dynamics of the

Superconducting Material Diagnostics using a Scanning Near-Field Microwave Microscope

open access: yes, 1998
We have developed scanning near-field microwave microscopes which can image electrodynamic properties of superconducting materials on length scales down to about 2 $\mu$m.

Photothermal effects in ultra-precisely stabilized tunable microcavities

open access: yes, 2016
We study the mechanical stability of a tunable high-finesse microcavity under ambient conditions and investigate light-induced effects that can both suppress and excite mechanical fluctuations.

Novel Compact and High Selectivity Dual-band BPF with Wide Stopband [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A novel type of compact and high selectivity dual-band bandpass filter (BPF) incorporating a dual-mode defected ground structure resonator (DDGSR) and a dual-mode open-stub loaded stepped impedance resonator (DOLSIR) is proposed in this paper.

Fast quantum information transfer with superconducting flux qubits coupled to a cavity

open access: yes, 2012
We present a way to realize quantum information transfer with superconducting flux qubits coupled to a cavity. Because only resonant qubit-cavity interaction and resonant qubit-pulse interaction are applied, the information transfer can be performed much

Equivalence of Open-Loop and Closed-Loop Operation of SAW Resonators and Delay Lines

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors in the form of two-port resonators or delay lines are widely used in various fields of application. The readout of such sensors is achieved by electronic systems operating either in an open-loop or in a closed-loop ...

Compact CPW-fed Antenna with Controllable WLAN Band-rejection for Microwave Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics
This work presents the design and experimental validation of a compact frequency reconfigurable coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with a capability to on-demand reject WLAN frequencies within the range of 5.15 GHz to 5.85 GHz ...

Amplifier enhances ring-down spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In recent years, investigators have adapted the principles of ringdown spectroscopy (see sidebar, facing page) to fiber optic configurations by placing high reflectors on each end of a fiber and observing the ringdown time of an injected pulse.

Compact microwave elliptic function filter usingnovelmicrostrip meander open-loop resonators

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1996
A new type of microwave elliptic function bandpass filter using microstrip meander open-loop resonators is proposed. It is shown that the new filter structure is small and allows nonadjacent electric and magnetic couplings to be realised and adjusted. A four-pole filter of this type has, for the first time, been designed and fabricated.

FPGA Readout for Frequency-Multiplexed Array of Micromechanical Resonators for Sub-Terahertz Imaging

open access: yesSensors
Field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) have not only enhanced traditional sensing methods, such as pixel detection (CCD and CMOS), but also enabled the development of innovative approaches with significant potential for particle detection.
