A new and miniaturized narrow bandpass filter (BPF) with very wide upper stopband is proposed. The filter consists of an open-loop resonator with the broadside coupled microstrip/slot hybrid unit and a microstrip open-loop resonator with short-circuited units, and the two resonators are edge-coupled to improve the performance of the filter.

A band-notched UWB antenna with L-shaped slots and open-loop resonator
2013 IEEE International Conference on Applied Superconductivity and Electromagnetic Devices, 2013A very compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultrawideband (UWB) printed monopole antenna with triple band-notched characteristics is presented. The antenna uses two open-ended quarter-wavelength slots to create double band-notched characteristics in 3.3-3.6 GHz for WIMAX and 5.15-5.825 GHz for WLAN.
