Economic Evaluation of Prolonged Hypothermic Oxygenated Machine Perfusion Enabling Daytime Liver Transplantation

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
DHOPE‐PRO enabled daytime liver transplantation with comparable one‐year transplantation‐related costs versus short‐duration DHOPE. Higher perfusion costs were offset by lower surgery‐related costs, suggesting DHOPE‐PRO can improve scheduling logistics without increasing overall hospital costs.

A CECT‐Based 2PI System as a Novel Noninvasive Prognostic Tool for Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Dual‐Validation Study

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Using differential weighting, we developed a 2PI‐based risk stratification system for HCC recurrence. A comprehensive prognostic model incorporating clinical variables and the 2PI score further enhanced postoperative prediction in solitary HCC and showed initial generalizability across SR and RFA cohorts.

Case Report Delayed Gastric Emptying after Living Donor Hepatectomy for Liver Transplantation

open access: yes, 2020
Delayed gastric emptying is a significant postoperative complication of living donor hepatectomy for liver transplantation and may require endoscopic or surgical intervention in severe cases.

Assessment of MRD and Longitudinal Monitoring of Post‐Surgery Biliary Tract Cancer With a Customized ctDNA Panel

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
A customized panel was established for BTC MRD detection. Preoperative ctDNA detection was associated with pathological stage and poorer RFS and OS. Longitudinal monitoring detected ctDNA before radiological recurrence in 72.7% of patients, with a median lead time of 77 days, supporting ctDNA as a complementary prognostic biomarker with CA19‐9 ...

Lactate‐Primed NETosis Modulates Hepatic Regeneration During Acute Liver Failure via the TLR9/KLF15/AJUBA Axis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
This study elucidates a novel Kupffer cell‐neutrophil‐hepatocyte axis that drives metabolic‐immune crosstalk during acute liver failure. Specifically, lactate‐primed NETs release links metabolic reprogramming to NETosis‐induced regenerative failure in hepatocytes via the TLR9/KLF15/AJUBA axis.

Short-term outcomes of laparoscopic extended hepatectomy versus major hepatectomy: a single-center experience

open access: yes
Introduction: Laparoscopic major hepatectomy (LMH) remains restricted to a few specialized centers and poses a challenge to surgeons performing laparoscopic resections. Laparoscopic extended resections are even more complex and rarely conducted. Methods:

Local anaesthetic infiltration via wound catheter versus epidural analgesia in open hepatectomy: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials.

open access: yes, 2019
BACKGROUND Although epidural analgesia (EA) provides effective pain control after open hepatectomy, postoperative hypotension is a common problem that limits ambulation.
