Alloy Phase Stability: Opening Remarks

1989
The problems of phase stability in alloys involve subjects that fall quite naturally between metallurgy and metal physics. By metallurgy we mean, for the most part, the more traditional aspects of the structure-property relations in metals and alloys and their manipulation by heat treatment, although a principal purpose of this Advanced Study Institute

An open-shell random phase approximation

Journal of Physics B: Atomic and Molecular Physics, 1974
A formalism is proposed for extending the random phase approximation to open shell systems. This method is based upon use of a central field model to obtain zeroth order energies and wavefunctions and utilizes the equations-of-motion approach of Rowe (1972).
