Shortcuts to Adiabaticity in Driven Open Quantum Systems
A universal scheme is introduced to speed up the dynamics of a driven open quantum system along a prescribed trajectory of interest. This framework generalizes counterdiabatic driving to open quantum processes.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Lectures on open quantum systems
These notes are a short introduction to the mathematical theory of open quantum systems. They are meant to serve as an entry point into a broad research area that has applications across the quantum sciences dealing with systems subjected to external noise. The idea is to let the key structures of the theory emerge from a concrete model.

Shortcut to Equilibration of an Open Quantum System
We present a procedure to accelerate the relaxation of an open quantum system towards its equilibrium state. The control protocol, termed Shortcut to Equilibration, is obtained by reverse-engineering the non-adiabatic master equation. This is a non-unitary control task aimed at rapidly changing the entropy of the system.

Dynamics of Open Quantum Systems - Markovian Semigroups and Beyond
The idea of an open quantum system was introduced in the 1950s as a response to the problems encountered in areas such as nuclear magnetic resonance and the decay of unstable atoms. Nowadays, dynamical models of open quantum systems have become essential

A modal-Hamiltonian interpretation of quantum mechanics [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to introduce a new member of the family of the modal interpretations of quantum mechanics. In this modal-Hamiltonian interpretation, the Hamiltonian of the quantum system plays a decisive role in the property-ascription rule that

Experimental Optical Simulator of Reconfigurable and Complex Quantum Environment
No quantum system can be considered totally isolated from its environment. In most cases the interaction between the system of interest and the external degrees of freedom deeply changes its dynamics, as described by open quantum system theory ...

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...
