Building energy simulation in real time through an open standard interface [PDF]
Building energy models (BEMs) are typically used for design and code compliance for new buildings and in the renovation of existing buildings to predict energy use. The increasing adoption of BEM as standard practice in the building industry presents an opportunity to extend the use of BEMs into construction, commissioning and operation.

Open‐source python‐OpenDSS interface for hybrid simulation of PV impact studies [PDF]
This study introduces an open‐source Python‐OpenDSS simulation tool where the phasor simulation software OpenDSS is interfaced with an electromagnetic transient (EMT) program‐type simulation tool implemented in Python environment. The tool is designed to perform impact study of photovoltaic (PV) integration in distribution systems. It is composed of an

In this paper, phase field models are developed for multi-component vesicle membranes with different lipid compositions and membranes with free boundary. These models are used to simulate the deformation of membranes under the elastic bending energy and the line tension energy with prescribed volume and surface area constraints.

Design code-based “life-safety” requirements for structural earthquake and tsunami design offer reasonable guidelines to construct buildings that will remain standing during a tsunami or seismic event. Much less consideration has been given to assessing structural resilience during sequential earthquake and tsunami multi-hazard events.

Sirepo: an open-source cloud-based software interface for X-ray source and optics simulations [PDF]
Sirepo, a browser-based GUI for X-ray source and optics simulations, is presented. Such calculations can be performed using SRW (Synchrotron Radiation Workshop), which is a physical optics computer code, allowing simulation of entire experimental beamlines using the concept of a `virtual beamline' with accurate treatment of ...
