Simulation Study on the Development Process and Phase Interface Structure of Gas-Liquid Slug Flow in a Horizontal Pipe

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2021
Here, a unified 3D numerical model of gas-liquid two-phase flow in a horizontal pipe was established using the interface capture method based on the open source software package OpenFOAM.

Boolink: a graphical interface for open access Boolean network simulations and use in guard cell CO2 signaling [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 2021
Abstract Signaling networks are at the heart of almost all biological processes. Most of these networks contain large number of components, and often either the connections between these components are not known or the rate equations that govern the dynamics of soluble signaling components are not quantified.

Level-Set Interface Description Approach for Thermal Phase Change of Nanofluids

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Simulations of thermally driven phase change phenomena of nanofluids are still in their infancy. Locating the gas–liquid interface location as precisely as possible is one of the primary problems in simulating such flows.

Intelligent agent simulator in massive crowd [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Crowd simulations have many benefits over real-life research such as in computer games, architecture and entertainment. One of the key elements in this study is to include elements of decision-making into the crowd.

Modelica and Functional Mock-Up Interface: Open Standards for Gas Turbine Simulation

open access: yesVolume 3: Coal, Biomass, Hydrogen, and Alternative Fuels; Cycle Innovations; Electric Power; Industrial and Cogeneration; Organic Rankine Cycle Power Systems, 2019
Abstract This paper introduces two physical modeling standards in the gas turbine and cycle analysis context. Modelica is the defacto standard for physical system modeling and simulation. The Functional Mock-Up Interface is a domain-independent standard for model exchange (“engine decks”).

Simulating human motion using Motion Model Units - example implementation and usage [PDF]

open access: yesArchive of Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Human motion is required in many simulation models. However, generating such a motion is quite complex and in industrial simulation cases represents an overhead that often cannot be accepted.

vPlanSim: An Open Source Graphical Interface for the Visualisation and Simulation of AI Systems

open access: yesProceedings of the International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling, 2021
We introduce vPlanSim, an open source tool to aid in AI PDDL development. This tool is primarily aimed at researchers and developers who need a visual representation of their planning problem so that they can make useful insights into the performance of their system, and also to naturally convey their system to others.

Curation and Publication of Simulation Data in DesignSafe, a Natural Hazards Engineering Open Platform and Repository

open access: yesPublications, 2019
Most open repositories present a similar interface and workflow to publish data resultant from different types of research methods. Publishing simulation datasets is challenging due to the iterative nature of simulations that generate large numbers and ...

Facet-Specific Adsorption of Tripeptides at Aqueous Au Interfaces: Open Questions in Reconciling Experiment and Simulation [PDF]

open access: yesLangmuir, 2017
The adsorption of three homo-tripeptides, HHH, YYY, and SSS, at the aqueous Au interface is investigated, using molecular dynamics simulations. We find that consideration of surface facet effects, relevant to experimental conditions, opens up new questions regarding interpretations of current experimental findings.
