Computer models assist basin-scale decision making by taking into account upstream-downstream interdependencies. The SWAT (hydrological) model code was developed into an OpenMI-compliant version and linked with the SOBEK (hydrodynamic) model to extend SWAT's simulations of basin-scale streamflow and sediment transport.

Simulation is an important tool for safety in the development process for an autonomous vehicle. This work addresses vehicle localization in the real environment through a simulation. The simulation is a digital twin of the real environment. Sensor data from the real environment are transferred to the simulator using the open simulation interface ...

Simulation of crack opening through a corner node, using rigid-plastic interface elements
2007Recently, the authors of this paper have proposed a new technique based on a double minimization with respect to a Mohr circle, for the computation of stresses and forces transmitted across mesh lines at the corner nodes of FE mesh in 2D (Ciancio et al. 2006). That procedure establishes the basis for the general modeling of crack development along mesh

This study reports benchmark results for a new immersed boundary method based finite-volume solver within the framework of the open-source toolbox foam-extend 3.2. The immersed boundary formulation uses a discrete forcing approach based on a weighted least squares approximation that preserves the sharpness of the boundary.

Abstract When fault detection and supervision systems make use of process simulation models, specific interfaces have to be developed in order to make both software modules communicate. The paper shows how this amount of work can be reduced, standardized, and made reusable by using a software component approach and by adhering to the future CAPE-OPEN
