Field‐Programable Dynamics in a Soft Magnetic Actuator Enabling True Random Number Generation and Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
Complex dynamics, often avoided in electromechanical design, can enhance soft robotics. We develop durable magnetic soft actuators operating in tunable dynamic regimes, enabling random number generation, stochastic computing, and time‐series prediction.

Regional astrocyte dysregulation and altered glymphatic‐related markers in Alzheimer's disease frontal cortex

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Astrocyte dysfunction is central to Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet expression patterns of astrocytic markers remain poorly defined. We measured Aquaporin‐4 (AQP4) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) in post‐mortem frontal cortex of AD patients and controls across BrainNet Europe (BNE) stages.

Tracking Zn Particle Movement in Zn–MnO2 Batteries and Incorporating Granular Flow Into a Computational Battery Model

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
In alkaline Zn–MnO2 cylindrical batteries, nonuniform ZnO precipitation creates a force that pushes Zn particles inward toward the current collector in some cases. Individual Zn particle movement is quantified via pseudo‐operando micro‐computed tomography and particle tracking.
