CLS‐Transformer for Home Service Robots: A Lightweight Action Recognition Model Based on Skeleton and Native Length Encoding

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The paper presents a native length encoding approach alongside a human skeleton‐based action recognition model (named CLS‐Transformer) for home service robots. The model incorporates a novel cue coding strategy that captures richer feature information. The experimental results demonstrate that CLS‐Transformer achieves superior recognition accuracy and ...

Reading the Social Clock: Analyzing Nonverbal Coordination Dynamics in Casual Chat and Conflict

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1554, Issue 1, Page 121-139, December 2025.
This study explores changes in interpersonal coordination as dyads transition from a casual chat to conflict. Multiple measures of movement coordination were derived from full‐body motion capture data collected from 66 dyads. Observer ratings were based on computer animations of neutral characters.

Video‐Based Data‐Driven Models for Diagnosing Movement Disorders: Review and Future Directions

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 40, Issue 10, Page 2046-2066, October 2025.
Abstract Movement disorders are abnormal, involuntary movements that can heavily impact a person's quality of life. In clinical practice, diagnosis and severity assessments rely mainly on visual clinical inspections (ie, on subjective expert opinion). With clinical videos commonly acquired as part of examinations, novel data‐driven models have emerged ...
