Fractional correlation operation: performance analysis

Applied Optics, 1996
The fractional correlation is a new tool related to the fractional Fourier transform. It is useful for comparison and recognition, especially for shift-variant cases. The performances of such a correlator are analyzed according to the standard criteria of signal-to-noise ratio, correlation sharpness (peak-to-correlation energy), and Horner efficiency ...

SELF-PERFORMED OPERATIONS

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1936
Wounds self inflicted in suicidal attempts, and self mutilations by the obviously insane, the religious fanatics, the malingerers and the professional beggars of certain countries, are too well known to merit comment. When these are excluded, there remains a group of individuals known to have subjected themselves to their own surgery for therapeutic ...

Do pills poison operating performance?

Journal of Corporate Finance, 2002
Abstract Contrary to arguments that poison pills degrade firm performance, we find that operating performance modestly improves during the 5-year period after pill adoption. Performance improvements are present in a wide range of firms, and are independent of adoption year and whether the firm is R&D intensive.

Performing Mathematical Operations with Metamaterials

Science, 2014
Computational Metamaterials Optical signal processing of light waves can represent certain mathematical functions and perform computational tasks on signals or images in an analog fashion. However, the complex systems of lenses and filters required are bulky.

Reliable assessment of operative performance

The American Journal of Surgery, 2016
There is no consensus regarding the number of intraoperative assessments required to reliably measure trainee performance. This study used generalizability theory (GT) to describe factors contributing to score variance and to estimate the number of assessments needed to achieve high standards of reliability. While performing laparoscopic procedures ...

Operating system performance

Communications of the ACM, 1972
An overview of the current and future positions with respect to operating system performance is given. While a great deal of information and a large number of models for subsystems have been developed, gaps still exist in our knowledge. Because of the severe interactions between the various subsystems of an operating system, an overall model of the ...

Dragline operator performance indicator

International Journal of Mining, Reclamation and Environment, 2010
The purpose of this research was to establish an operator performance indicator (OPI) that can be used by mining professionals/management to aid in the evaluation of dragline operators in surface coal mining. The OPI is defined as a ratio of hourly dragline production and hourly energy consumption, which needs to be maximised.

Operational Performance Support

2019
