Operations Planning with VERT

Operations Research, 1981
The Venture Evaluation and Review Technique (VERT) is a computerized, mathematically oriented network-based simulation technique designed to analyze risks existing in three parameters of most concern to managers in new projects or ventures—time, cost, and performance. As such, the VERT technique is more powerful than techniques such as GERT, which are

Planning of regrasp operations

Proceedings 1999 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.99CH36288C), 2003
Robotic manipulators in contemporary work-cells are often incapable of solving even simple pick-and-place operations. More specifically, most systems require each object to be supplied in the same and pre-defined way. Introducing regrasping to the production cycle relaxes the constraints imposed on supply mechanisms.

SOP- SURGICAL OPERATION PLANNING

Biomedizinische Technik/Biomedical Engineering, 2001
Our active research project DFG Eu-49/1-2 strives to the reconstruction of bone defects basing on the individual craniofacial implants prefabricated within the TICC-processing-chain. In cases of disease of the bone the defect is to plan and the bone has to be resected. The planning of the defect is done on CT- and CAD-data.

OPERATION PLANNING METHOD AND OPERATION PLANNING DEVICE

2014
An operation planning method performed in a system including a power generation device, a first electric load operating using power generated by the power generation device, and a second electric load which generates heat using power generated by the power generation device. The operation planning method is performed to design an operation plan for the

Anticipatory planning in information operations

SMC 2000 Conference Proceedings. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. 'Cybernetics Evolving to Systems, Humans, Organizations, and their Complex Interactions' (Cat. No.00CH37166), 2002
The doctrinal definition of information operations (IO) focuses exclusively on offensive and defensive activities. The paper proposes extending the definition of IO to include information efficacy, then describes a new approach to military planning and execution called anticipatory planning.

Operational Models in Urban Planning [PDF]

open access: possibleEnvironment and Planning A: Economy and Space, 1981
This paper evaluates the role of operational models in urban, physical planning. A theory of planning is proposed and used to guide discussion of the experience of urban development planning in the USA and UK during the last two decades. It is concluded that physical planning is an institution which controls the location and level of public investment ...
